MBA Specialisation

Hey IIBSian,
are you ready to take specialisation in MBA? not yet.....? thats not good friends. ok ok i think you are little bit confuse about your specilaisation whether what would be good for you and your future. right ? .
So friends this article is all about the same topic "MBA SPECILAISATION"
it will help you to choose a perfect way in which you would be feel better. it can be "MARKETING", "FINANCE",or "HUMAN RESOURCE".

ALWAYS  REMEMBER.....

Credibility of your specialisation: All MBAs have some specialisation and special attributes. Recruiters look for future managers and not just MBA graduates. So while choosing MBA you should think analytically and strategically. Because choosing a right MBA specialisation can help you in achieving your career goals.

Choose your specialisation according to your interest: Do not follow others as your interest area might be different from others. You might like a particular field or you may have good knowledge of a particular field, but it might be that others do not have the same level of interest and knowledge of that field. So, other than following the hoard, it is really important that you remember that your interest areas might differ from others same as your career goals.

Research well about the job opportunities in your sector: Before selecting your specialisation it is important you must have researched well about available job opportunities in the field. You must know what kinds of jobs are available in your chosen field. It will help you decide and create a picture of hierarchy of your field.

Choose best B-school for your specialisation: It is important that you choose the right B-school for your specialisation. If you select a college which does not offer you same specialisation which you are looking for, it will be a total waste of your efforts and money. Therefore, look for a college which is well known for its specialisation. For instance, if you opt for general MBA in IIM-C it will be not of so much worth, as doing MBA in Finance from there. Therefore, it is really important that you must know which management institute specialize in which MBA field.

Always look for other options: You might have opted for best specialisation but there might be some other good options available as per your interest areas. Choosing one specialisation is not sufficient in today's competitive world. So, it is really important that you must be ready with some alternates. MBA specialisations are available in numerous fields, choosing only one field is not enough for students.

Before doing any job

  Hello friends,......
this is Madhu here, as we all know very well that we are in the business field, and we have to think about our job and future. For that we should know that in business field what kind of job we really want to do..? Because business has lots of jobs to do.So before joining any job or any company, just think twice. So now I am going to share some tips before entering any job..

   1. The Money Question

If money isn’t a key issue for you, you are very fortunate. However, most people find that their financial situation strongly influences their job decision making.
When evaluating whether to accept a job offer, finances must be considered in two significant ways:

1) Can you afford to pass up an uninspiring offer and wait for something better?
If you have been between gigs for a while, it may be necessary to compromise on waiting for your dream job and accept something that will help you pay the bills right now. If finances are tight, you may also be more likely to consider a less attractive compensation package because some cash flow is better than none.
That’s not to say it’s fair or right. Only you can decide if earning money right away must be prioritized over the other factors listed below.

2) How does the compensation offered compare to your other options?
For every job offer, you must also consider whether the compensation offered is fair and appealing. It’s not just about the numbers on your pay check, it’s about your quality of life and feeling valued as an employee.

Remember that salary is just one part of the compensation equation. You must also consider health benefits, paid time off, 401(k), and other factors. There may also be room to negotiate from the first offer — either for more money or for additional perks.
Look at salary research on Payscale.com to make sure that the offer is fair based on market averages and your level of experience. This research will also give you some ammunition if you want to try to negotiate a better deal.
Next, do the math and make sure you understand how well you’ll be able to live if you accept the job. Think long and hard before accepting an offer that seems unfair (nobody wants to be a bargain hire and it could cause resentment later) or could lead to financial hardship down the road.
At the same time, don’t allow yourself to be swayed by a big paycheck if the job is a bad fit in other important ways. Research by The Journal of Happiness Studies (yes, this is a real publication) shows that money increases happiness only when it allows people to move from poverty to about $50,000 per year (I have to wonder if the figure should be a little higher in New York City and other high-cost-of-living cities). Beyond that, more money doesn’t have a significant impact on happiness.

2. The Job

Naturally, you will also want to evaluate the position itself and the work you will be doing for 8+ hours per day for the foreseeable future.
Do you get excited thinking about the work?
Does the position allow you to use the skills you most enjoy? How often?
Do you believe in the company and its products/services? Are you passionate about making a contribution?
What role will you play in the organization? How will you interact with coworkers?
Are there any quality of life considerations to consider? Think about commute time, expected overtime, flexibility options, and related factors.
Is it important for you to have visibility, leadership, an impressive title? And, to what extent does the position offer these things?

3. The Management

Some jobs look great on paper — until you meet the manager. A great manager can make a tough job rewarding, but a bad manager can make even a dream job stressful.
Your direct manager will have the most influence on your day-to-day work life.
Is he someone you can work with?
Does he show respect to his team members?
Does he have a good reputation in the industry?
What is his management style and how does it fit with your preferences?
Do his expectations seem reasonable?

4. The Culture/Atmosphere

It can be difficult to get a true sense of a company’s culture until you work there. However, if you look for hints and ask good questions during the final rounds of  interviews, you can get a pretty good idea of how they operate. You can also learn a lot from seeking out former employees of the company in your network.
Some culture questions to consider:
Are the company’s values in keeping with yours?
Do company leaders prioritize issues you deem important?
Does the company emphasize training, mobility, and promotion from within?
What kind of personalities seem to thrive?
After visiting the office, can you see yourself working in that environment?

5. Future Prospects

In today’s job market, no position is forever. With each step you take, you must evaluate how it will position you for the future.
Will this job keep you sharp?
Will the day-to-day responsibilities let you hone skills that will make you even more marketable in the future?

Does this position come with increased responsibility?
Will working at this company give your resume added credibility?
Does the job give you a “foot in the door” to make a desired career change?
Will you have access to useful training and networking opportunities?
When evaluating whether to accept a job offer, all five of the categories above should be considered. However, you must also prioritize according to personal importance. The compensation may be your biggest concern right now —  or perhaps after years at a staid company, you need a more innovative culture.

Think about which questions are critical for you and where you would be willing to make sacrifices.  While the choice can be difficult, having a clear list of priorities and concrete answers can help guide you to the job that was meant for you.

Positive Attitude

Hello friends,
We all want success, but its time to think that how can we achieve that? By doing only study? By doing  only work in practical life? These things are really important for success no doubt, but there is a very, very important thinking behind of our success, that is.."POSSITIVE ATTITUDE".
Our study, 20 % helps us to achieve our goal and our "POSSITIVE ATTITUDE" 80% helps us to achieve that.
So change your attitude..see this video...

THANKS...

About interview

Hey my all friends ..hi to all of you, i am madhu .
now  i am going to share about very important class that we had today "communication class" by "Joseph" sir . He taught today about interview means what should we always remember before interview, during interview and after interview.

Read the company's website — It’s time to do some digging around the company you want to work for. Some organisations like the Arcadia Group will own more than one company,  so after looking at their official website, be sure to look at their corporate site too, it can be hard to find so you might have to play detective. Once you find it, read up on the business, the more you know about them, the better prepared you’ll be.

Re-read the job description — Have a clear idea of what the job calls for and think about how your skills relate to the job. Give your cover letter a glance over, it’ll refresh your memory about the experience and skills you can elaborate on.

Read trade publications and retail news — Trade association sites, such as the British Retail Consortium and Skillsmart Retail, have a ton of information to help your research.

Visit the store — If they have a store nearby, go check it out. Observe how the staff interact with customers and how they sell their products, it’ll be worth mentioning at the interview.

Pick smart, appropriate clothes — A messy appearance is the easiest mistake to make and is also the most avoidable. Wear an outfit that reflects the company, so if it’s a fashion job, wear something fashionable, simple. If in doubt, you can’t go wrong with a classic suit or black skirt and blouse, effortlessly smart.

Plan your trip — The chances are you’ve never been to the location before, so plan it well in advance. Check your journey and leave with plenty of time to spare, better to be early than late.

Questions to prepare.........

It’s a question you’re bound to get asked, “Have you got anything you’d like to ask us?” It’s always a good idea to have some questions ready to ask, but amongst the nerves it’s natural to draw a blank, so here are some suggestions:

When you compare yourself to your competitors, what are your strengths and weaknesses?
What have been some of your most successful initiatives?
What opportunities are there for advancement and training?
During the interview

If you’ve done your research, turned up on time and looked presentable, that’s half the battle won, now you have to impress the interviewer. Retailers want to employ people who not only work hard but that can get on with their colleagues and customers . Here is how you can create a good impression within the first few minutes of the interview:

Be polite and friendly to everyone you meet from the security guard onwards. Of course it’s never advisable to be rude, but you can never be sure who will have an input into the selection process.

Use positive body language — Make eye contact with the interviewer as soon as you enter the room, shake hands firmly and only sit down once you’re asked.

Make an effort to address your comments to everyone if it's a panel interview.
Don't risk telling any in-jokes. There's every chance they've heard them all before and it just makes you look a bit cheesy, and no one wants to hire a bad comedy act.

Use specific examples — Wherever possible illustrate your answers with examples, it’ll give the interviewer a better understanding of your skills and accomplishments. For example, if they ask you how you would deal with an unhappy customer, talk about how you’ve dealt with it in a previous job.

Ask about next steps — Don't forget to ask what happens next and when you can expect to hear if you have made it through to the next stage in the process
Common questions you may be asked
Interviewers like to throw a spanner into the works and occasionally ask you tricky questions, but don't be put off by them. If you have followed our tips so far and prepared well, you’ll be able to handle it. Here are some common tricky questions you might get.

Why do you want this job?
It's the natural next step for you, and this is the right company for you to further your career. If you've got any previous retail knowledge, show it off, don’t be afraid to promote what you know, especially if it's about their company. You’ve worked hard preparing for this interview, make all that research worthwhile.

What are your strengths?
You'll always be asked this so make sure you have some clear answers that are relevant to the job. For example, an ability to handle tricky situations may be relevant for a customer service role and being a great team player will be useful for many roles in retail.
You've worked for several different retailers in the past few years. How do we know you will stay with us?
Don't be defensive if you have changed jobs frequently. It's fairly common in retail jobs and nothing to be worried about. Explain that great opportunities came your way to work with different companies but now you’re looking for solid career opportunities. Let them know that you intend to stay with them and are serious about the role.

You've never worked in retail. Why should we take you seriously?
If they’ve offered you an interview, they’re obviously interested in you, so don’t panic if you haven’t got a lot of experience, everyone has to start somewhere. Make sure you tell them about any relevant sales skills, customer service experience or knowledge of the retail sector.
After the interview
Phew, the interview is over, and you’re absolutely exhausted right? Good news: that’s the hard bit over, but there are still some things you can do.
Evaluate — Sit down somewhere quiet for a few minutes to think about the questions you were asked and how you might improve your answers next time.
Send a thank-you note — Manners cost nothing, so when you get home send them a quick email thanking the recruiter for their time. It might sound pointless, but you'd be surprised where being polite can get you.
Follow up — Not heard from them yet? If it’s been a while it doesn't hurt to ring or email the recruiter. Use a little common sense though, don’t just ring the next day, you’ll end up annoying them, and you don’t want that. If you didn’t get the job, you can still ask for feedback, it’ll help you for next time.
Here is a small chart about interview to rememer always ...
